Tokimeku's Role in ESG Compliance
As a supplier to the electronics manufacturing industry, as well as the medical, aerospace, and educational sectors, Tokimeku recognizes the importance of staying up to date with evolving regulations and material compliance requirements. We remain committed to sourcing and supplying materials that meet the stringent standards demanded by our customers and their end users, ensuring reliability, safety, and regulatory alignment across all applications.
Compliance with Global/Local Standards
All products containing electrical or electronic components—unless specifically exempt—must comply with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive, which limits the use of 10 hazardous substances throughout the product's lifecycle, including during manufacturing, assembly, usage, and disposal.
Tokimeku supplies a comprehensive selection of RoHS-compliant and certified materials, such as solder wire, solder paste, various types of flux (paste, liquid, wave), and cleaning chemicals. Our products are designed to support manufacturers in meeting regulatory requirements and ensure high performance and workplace safety.
With growing regulatory pressure to limit or eliminate the use of PFAs (Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), and following the recent discontinuation of 3M’s NOVEC product line, many companies are actively shifting toward PFAs-free chemicals and materials to meet compliance and sustainability goals.
Tokimeku assists in this transition by offering a comprehensive range of PFAs-free products, including both short- and long-term direct replacements for 3M NOVEC, along with other environmentally responsible alternatives tailored to your manufacturing needs.
The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) monitors air quality and emissions in and around industrial facilities throughout Southern California. Compliance with its regulations is mandatory for manufacturers operating in the region with a key focus on controlling the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in manufacturing processes to reduce air pollution and protect public health.
Tokimeku supports these environmental goals with a range of low-VOC sprays and cleaning chemicals that fully comply with SCAQMD regulations—helping our customers meet compliance standards while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.
Low GWP (Global Warming Potential) regulations are part of global efforts to combat climate change by reducing the use of substances that significantly contribute to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Chemicals with a low GWP have a reduced impact on the environment, making them a preferred choice in industries aiming to meet sustainability targets and regulatory requirements.
At Tokimeku, we offer a selection of low-GWP materials designed to help our customers lower their carbon footprint without compromising performance or quality.
Lead-based solder is increasingly being phased out of electronics manufacturing due to its high toxicity and adverse environmental impact. Prolonged exposure poses serious health risks to operators who handle it regularly, and improper disposal—whether during manufacturing or at the end of a product’s life—can result in lead contamination of soil and water.
While leaded solder is still used in certain applications, Tokimeku advocates for the transition to lead-free alternatives and offers a comprehensive range of high-quality, lead-free solder that support safer, more sustainable manufacturing practices for both our environment and our health.
A Safety Data Sheet (SDS), or a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) provides comprehensive information about a substance or mixture, including its hazardous properties, safe handling procedures, and emergency measures. SDSs are crucial for workplaces to educate employees and handlers, and ensure the safe handling, use, and storage of chemicals and other hazardous materials.
All chemicals supplied by Tokimeku are accompanied by their respective SDS, ensuring transparency, regulatory compliance, and safe usage across all applications.
Environmental Responsibility
At Tokimeku, we specialize in modular, or "bite-sized" automation solutions designed to allow customers to selectively automate targeted segments of their production line, offering greater flexibility and scalability compared to traditional, all-or-nothing automation systems.
This is ideal for operations with changing production needs, enabling quick adaptation without major disruption. As demand or complexity grows, additional modules can be easily added—supporting efficient, low-risk expansion.
Tokimeku’s modular automation gives manufacturers the freedom to start small and scale up over time, avoiding large upfront investments. It also guarantees that they are not locked into rigid system designs which may not work for them in the long run and wind up being replaced.
A key advantage of Tokimeku's automation is our retrofitting capability. Unlike conventional automation providers that often require a complete overhaul of existing equipment, Tokimeku’s modules are designed to integrate seamlessly with our customers’ current machinery. This means there is no need to discard equipment that are still functional and efficient. Instead, we enable interoperability across machines from different manufacturers, creating a unified and intelligent production ecosystem without the need for wholesale replacement.
Tokimeku’s retrofitting approach not only minimizes industrial waste and environmental impact, but also empowers manufacturers to modernize, sustainably, on their own terms, at their own pace.
Solder dross is a by-product generated during the soldering process, particularly in wave soldering and hot solder pots. It forms as a result of oxidation and the accumulation of impurities on the surface of molten solder. Despite being classified as waste, solder dross contains a significant amount of recoverable metal.
Through recycling, these impurities can be effectively removed, allowing the reclaimed solder to be reintegrated into the manufacturing process or sold as a reusable material. This not only reduces the volume of waste disposal but also enhances operational efficiency by maintaining clean solder baths, thereby improving soldering quality and minimizing defects.
As part of our commitment to sustainability and waste reduction, Tokimeku is proud to introduce our range of solder dross recovery machines, designed to support efficient recycling and promote responsible and sustainable manufacturing.
