Tensor: New standards for laser processing

Overcoming boundaries and setting new benchmarks

Laser technology has evolved significantly due to increased performance and reduced costs of laser sources. This has led to a wider range of applications in materials processing and increased cost-effectiveness for users. However, in micromaterial processing, increased laser power must be accompanied by enhanced beam deflection speed to improve processing quality. LPKF, experts in laser micromachining, has introduced the Tensor Optics module to resolve this conflict. By increasing beam deflection by a multiple, known limitations and boundaries can be overcome, allowing for new limits to be set.

What is Tensor?

LPKF has developed a new, innovative beam deflection module that sets new standards in laser processing called the Tensor Technology. It distributes pulses around the laser spot, allowing higher laser powers to be used effectively and meeting quality requirements. Tensor technology can also be integrated into various laser processing systems and processes, such as depaneling, drilling and cutting, and active mold making systems.

 Benefits of Tensor Technology

Provision

Flexibility

Unlike alternative technologies, as an end user you are not bound to a fixed number of partial beams with fixed spacing. Tensor technology gives you maximum flexibility.
Online transfer

Transmission

With a transmission of more than 99%, the available energy of the laser can be used efficiently. In comparison, alternative beam deflection technologies offer significantly lower transmission and may lead to performance losses.

Efficient

Cost-efficiency

Due to the potential performance advantages and the comparatively low investment costs of the tensor module, the module offers excellent cost efficiency. It thus offers considerable added value for the user and makes it possible to differentiate from the competition.
